When farm-to-table was just called eating

Greater Springfield Farmer’s Market was established in 1979 when farm-to-table was just called “eating”. The world has since changed with much of our food supply traveling across continents and oceans. But, we haven’t changed. For once, that’s a good thing!

We are unabashedly old-fashioned about the quality of food, while employing modern farming techniques like high tunnels that extend growing seasons for some of your favorite seasonal produce.

Your only producer-only market.

We are the Springfield area’s only true farmers’ market. That means that the person selling produce to you personally planted, grew, harvested or made your food. Our vendors are not allowed to buy food for resale like other markets allow.

You can look your farmers in the eyes and ask them about the source of your food. This matters to us, and we know it matters to you too. Meet your farmers and vendors. Because the journey from our farms to your table is always less than 100 miles, you enjoy naturally ripened and better tasting produce, and a longer shelf life.

veggies, fruits, plants, jams and so much more!

Select from foods raised by more than 50 local farmers, growers, ranchers, and value-added food producers. While the market is different each day it’s open, you can be assured that your food supply is not dependent upon any one producer’s crop success delivering you a higher likelihood that your in-season favorites will be available.

Since we include local farmers, growers, ranchers and value-added food producers, you can enjoy a wide selection of vegetables, fruit, meat, plants, baked goods and a variety of jams, honey, salsas as well as arts and crafts.
